IMO STATE UNIVERSITY WINS THE 2018 NDDC MOOT COURT AND MOCK TRIALS COMPETITION

It was a dream come through on the 11th day of December as IMO STATE UNIVERSITY was announced the winner of the NDDC moot court and mock trials competition at Rivers State University

All thanks goes to our God Almighty for always answering our prayers anytime we call him...

I, on behalf of the Law Students Association IMSU also wishes to use this medium to appreciate the Dean Of Law, Imo State University Prof. Ine Nnadi for the love, care and concern she gears towards the welfare and Academic growth of students... We love you Ma..
Not leaving our Amiable Staff Adviser Chuks Dom-Chima out of this, with his hand always

stretched in help of anyone and every one, he accompanied the team representing IMSU to Rivers State for the competition and brooded over us a hen would do over her eggs... we love you sir.

We also thank Chinenyeze Amaechi Ph.D immensely for his time, mental and financial resources spent to ensure our victory. We love you Sir.

To our coaches, the Gold smiths who moulded the team. We can't thank you enough for your time, money and celebral resources spent in pursuit of this victory.. We love you soooo much:

Emmanuel Uwadoka esq.

Special Thanks goes to Emmanuel Uwadoka esq and Amara Onyema esq for the exceptional assistance, for the careful guidelines and for their burning interest for their Alma Mata, Imo State University. May God bless you. Amen.

To the team that represented Imo State University:

John Okorie 500lvl(Lead Counsel): A dugged, dedicated, result oriented, resilient and focused young man. The fomer Chief Judge of Law Students Association IMSU and present Director for Moots and Mocks.

He was the best person to handle the legal weapons we were armed with by our coaches.

Playful and Cheerful but very serious when need be. His gesticulations, his command of english, his courage, his grip of latiin maxims, statutory authorities,

decided cases, obiters and ratios won us the day... Not forgetting the stress he passed through while we prepared, John had to trek from IMSU back gate to Imo High Court because he did not have money for

transportation, he had only 20naira which he gave a beggar around cherubim Junction as he trekked.

Funny enough he got to the court before me that entered bus and neither was he down cast nor did he let his status kill his zeal... That same day we got favours from everywhere and everyone we encountered.

We stayed up late at night for research and compilation of our reponse to the Preliminary objection, most times we forgot that we hadn't eaten, it was as though a prophet told us that we were going to win but that the only way it would come through was to prepare very well.

It was two(2) straight weeks of serious prepping,
It was two (2) straight weeks of self denial,
It was two(2) straight weeks of brainstorming,
it was two(2) staright weeks dedicated to NDDC..
Thank you very much man.. May God bless you...
Rex Uwadoka 400lvl(Co counsel):

Yours truly did what he does best, setting a target and achieveing it.
John would be in the best position to write for me..

Chiamaka Achor 500lvl(Co counsel): She is my highest ranking appointee (LAWSA Chief Judge) and was in the team I was previleged to select to represent IMSU.

She was part of the hustle and bustle during the prepping. She was aswell instrumental to our success... Thank you My Lord.
Onyeka Ibebuchi 500lvl(DW1): Onyeka appeared as a witness in the person of Major Dasuki Mohammadu.

He appeared in the Military Uniform to the excitement of both Judges and the gallery.

His potbelly and Okonkwoish walking step made his military character seem real.. He studied virtually everything about the Nigerian Army and played his role wonderfully during cross examination where one Uwa Osagie the lead counsel for

UniBen asked him questions like:

1. How many ranks are in the Nigerian Army?? Onyeka started lecturing the court of Commissioned and non-commissioned officers oh.. like one kyn old soldier like that

2. What are the three ranks below you?? Onyeka answered very correctly..

3. You say you are a military man, spell your name in military language... Na so Onyeka confuse ..

His saving grace was that John immediately objected to the relevance of the question to the suit quoting section 1(1) of the evidence act.

Andthe objection was sustained....
He is result oriented, he is calm, he is a good man, he is cool headed and goes for the knowledge not minding who is giving it... God bless you Sir
Ogu Chidiebere A.K.A MOG 400lvl

(DW2): Ogu appeared as Mr. Abayomi Oyewole, Director in the Federal Ministry of Environment and the head of the Rivers State Office of the Federal Ministry of Environment. Ogu was a part of the process, he was very much prepared to play his role very well.

Unfortunately we were asked to field only one witness so we went with Major Dasuki. Having Ogu in your team is like having an extra propeller... he is goal driven and result oriented... just give him a chance and go to sleep.. Ogu would perform..

Maxwell Immanuel 200lvl (Research Assistance): Maxwell was actually God sent. We kept strictly to the rules by going with only 5people not knowing that no other school would do same... it was to my greatest surprise that some schools came with as much as 13 students.

So Maxwell immediately landed in the hotel as soon as we arrived. He quickly blended into the team and was brought abreast with all what we were doing. Since we had no printer, he was incharge of reproducing by writing online cases or cases from books on A4 papers... he played a very important role.. God bless you Brother...

We were to meet Igbinedion University at round 1 but i guess they saw our reponse to their preliminary objection and advised themself 藍. Response that was a collabo of Emmanuel Uwadoka Esq., Amara Onyema Esq. and F.A. Onuzulike Esq....
So we were then paired against against Delta State University led by one Michael Okoye. We won them and moved to the final round..

We were then paired against UNIBEN. Where we were defendants and UNIBEN, plaintiff.
We sent them packing and clinched the award of 1million naira cash prize...

All Glory goes to God almighty for the wonderful outing..

Long live LAWSA IMSU
Long live NDDC
Long live Imo State University
Long live Nigeria
