CHRISTMAS BEGINS EARLY FOR IMO WORKERS

DECEMBER SALARIES TO BE PAID ON 1ST DECEMBER, PLUS ADDITIONAL 10,000 NAIRA XMAS ALLOWANCE TO EACH WORKER

Imo State governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has announced the indefinite suspension of the Accountant-General of Imo State and the arrest of two managers of two commercial banks in the State for their involvement in the delay of payment of some workers salaries in the State, after the governor had given approval and warrant for payment signed. This action is no doubt, a sabotage to the government and the people of Imo State.

The governor also announced that he has given approval for the payment of December salaries to all workers in the State, starting from the 1st of December. Additional 10,000 Naira shall be paid to each worker as Xmas bonus to enable them have a modest Yuletide.

The governor made these announcements during a ceremony to mark the 40th year anniversary of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, where the governor was decorated by LGA workers in the State for his consistent love and support to Imo workers and the massive development of the State since the inception of his administration in 2011.

The governor assured the workers of his continued commitment to their welfare up till the last minute of his administration. He regretted that some highly placed civil servants have continued to sabotage his efforts at ensuring that Imolites enjoy the best deal possible from his administration.
