The university staff and students of Imo State University Owerri had a tremendous Solemn Assembly at the school auditorium today.
The November edition was an opportunity to commit year 2019 into God's hands while they prepare to live out the remaining days of this year. Issues bordering the university, welfare of staff and students were presented before the lord in prayers in the following order :
Dr(Mrs) Adaora Udoanyanwu —Nigeria/ Imo State;
J.C.C.F President —IMSU staff & students;
Prof Anthony Unanma— Family/Church;
Moderator —V. C/Mgt/Council members.
Meanwhile, the V.C revealed that she will be jetting to China tomorrow, as one of 10 selected for the World Vice Chancellors' meeting. She also added that IMSU lecturers have been paid their salary and promised that, that of the November will be paid soon.
The V.C made it clear that the university under her supervision has set up a directorate for the IMSU alumni across Nigeria and beyond Nigeria.
The V.C also stated that efforts are being made towards settling the issues in the school both the internal and external, as NASU managerial needs have been settled awaiting the school visitor.
D.V.C Academics, Professors, Deans, Directors and Heads of department including students were all present, as the benediction was offered by the Chaplain of the St. Joseph Catholic Chaplaincy.
